“Your species is extremely confused by your two concepts of ‘being’ and ‘thing’. For example, you consider your star a thing, but it is a being — and you think of planets as things, but they too are ‘beings’. Sol is a male being, and Earth is a female being. The other planets are essentially ‘her sisters’. The creatures of Earth are the result of the ‘marriage’ of your star and your world. Sol and Earth aren’t exactly organisms, themselves — although Earth qualifies for this description because she is comprised of countless organismal children — but the important thing to understand is that Sol is a male progenitor and Earth is a female mother. His character, in the form of light and energy ‘penetrates’ her, and she becomes pregnant, bearing children in her waters and on her surface. In effect, Earth is a kind of egg, and she lives in a male womb: the gravity-well of Sol. She ‘attracts’ other kinds of suitors, too, particularly things that fly through space such as rocks of various sizes, and comets. Throughout her history, she’s been ‘penetrated’ by many such objects, and sometimes they left seed in the form of important chemical complexity or actual organisms. Earth became ‘pregnant’ with children as a result of these penetrations in combination with the ongoing nourishment from Sol.

Sol has a strong say in which suitors get through to her, and so does Earth’s moon. Although they may not appear capable of ‘choosing’ suitors, their gravity — which also expresses their character — affects anything within or entering your system. The moon also blocks or absorbs a significant quantity of incoming material that might otherwise impact Earth. Yet in truth, Sol and the Earth are more a single being than they are separate. Let’s explore what I mean by this.

If your species had traveled in space for a long time, they would eventually realize that what you call ‘a star’ and what you call ‘a solar system’ aren’t actually separate from each other in the way your common perspectives imply. After long experience with stars, you’d realize that ‘a solar system’ is a unified complex entity, and that ‘a star’ is the whole system as well as the field of effect generated by it. From our perspective, a star is actually the whole body of this effect, which is quite a bit larger than your solar system. We see understand this body as a unique form of organism. At its core is something akin to the nucleus of an animal cell — what you call the Sun. In an animal cell, the nucleus contains DNA, which is somewhat akin to a complex ‘living blueprint’ for protein generation and cellular reproduction. The Sun is an energetic analog of the physical functions of a cellular nucleus. Around that are arrayed other complex bodies — the planets —which we understand as analogous to organelles — like the organs of a cell. Your solar system is like a cell, whose ‘membrane’ is the body of Sol’s effect on space. Earth is not so much a separate ‘planet’ as she is ‘an organ of Sol’. She happens to be the planet of the group where countless forms of organismal life exist — and thus she is ‘a living organ’ and is something like ‘the senses’ of Sol. The terrestrial children comprise an impossibly complex sensory array; and through this organ Sol and Earth experience themselves and each other. The profoundly diversified assembly of living beings on Earth is a single creature — a biocognitive hypersystem — the same way you are comprised of the 200 trillion or so cells that are ‘you’.

Earth is incredibly delicate, and as her children grow more complex, she grows more delicate. It is extremely difficult for a planetary nursery such as Earth to survive repeated penetrations by large suitors. Your species doesn’t yet understand the almost impossible difficulty and perilous nature of this game. To get from cellular life to animalian life is a process fraught with danger and sudden extinctions. Those extinctions radically reduce her senses in the same way a severe stroke can reduce a human being’s. At each point in Earth’s history where a penetrating suitor caused an extinction event, Earth was severely injured. The memory of these events is written in every living cell on your planet, such that at this point, every animal can sense when threatening suitors are approaching. It’s primarily large suitors that cause problems. Small objects are striking Earth all the time, and dusts rain down onto her surface constantly from space. But an impact by a large suitor, once she has complex children, is almost always a catastrophic event. It’s one of the few events with the power to extinguish most or all of her existing children at once — but it is particularly her complex children, those existing at the animalian scale, like yourselves who face the greatest risk. These are also her greatest treasure, for they are the product of painstaking eons of evolution and careful nurturance.

Earth’s history is long, and she has had at least as many close calls as she has had direct hits. She is aware in a complex way of the many ‘small rocks’ that float around in your solar system — and part of her sense is her gravity field, which extends a great distance from her surface. She knows about the local status of nearby suitors, and can identify those that are approaching her long before they arrive. As we speak, a comparatively large suitor is about to come very close to her, and your ability to hear and understand me is related to this event. Though your astronomers have not yet discovered it, there is a small object that is about to come extremely close to Earth, and they will not notice it until it has passed. Earth, however is already aware of it, and is responding by ‘getting nervous’, because she is familiar with this particular object from a historic event of great significance to her and her children.

Anything that deeply penetrates into Earth’s close field of sensing causes a pervasive cognitive response in her children, who also remember, albeit in a different way, the histories of both impacts and near misses. They do not have to be ‘consciously aware’ of this to have awareness — even your own people sense this and change in response — they simply are not aware of the effects resulting from these situations. Since you do not have this story, and the current state of your sciences would not admit the possibility of such a situation because they cannot identify a ‘reasonable’ transport for this sensitivity, you cannot have discussions about it. Your people have no idea that all of the organisms of Earth respond instantly and as a whole to changes in local circumstances, such as changes the character of the Sun, changes in the Earth herself, and the approach of significant suitors. This small rock that is now approaching is creating a very unique set of conditions on Earth, and that is a part of the reason why we can converse. The rock that is coming is not exceptionally large, but it is large enough to rouse both her and her children to a state of readiness. It will come closer than any near-passing object in your records. My presence is related to this specific rock. But let me illustrate our nature more clearly.

Suppose that through some unique circumstance, a form of very minute life exists within a rock floating through space. Perhaps this rock surrounds a crystalline core that contains water, and this water houses living organisms that have evolved to survive such a circumstance over vast periods of time. Now imagine that this rock has been flying around in space for a few billion years, and although the organisms within it cannot really grow more physically complex — because they don’t have much space — what they can do is grow more cognitively complex. They integrate with each other cognitively, rather than physically. Over millions or billions of years, they learn a way to reach out into space, far beyond their little rock, and touch the minds of other life forms. Eventually, they become experts at this, and form a kind of lens that locally assembles the organismal intelligence of many planets. This ends up making them a transport, as well as just listeners — they can now act as a wayStation across which these worlds can learn from and about each other. This is learning occurs at the cellular level, or even at the level of organelles, rather than the animalian scale, so the effect is to grant very elemental forms of life unique abilities and understandings that emerge as evolutionary prowess wherever they are enacted.

Of course each planet is as unique as it is similar, so not all of the information delivered by the tinyLife in the rock is mechanically useful, but almost all of it is at least cognitively useful. We are somewhat like the creatures in this rock. They are not like the life-forms of a planet, for they have spent an impossible amount of time evolving cognitively, rather than physically. But their ‘civilization’ and activities far surpass those of a physical culture. They are a connectivity element whose activity functionally unifies countless forms and scales of life across myriads of planets — instantaneously, at all times. It is not necessarily that we live on a rock, or specifically on this rock coming close to Earth — but there is a relationship between our presence and the presence of this rock. When specific suitors come close to Earth, she changes cognitively, and when she does this, the sensitivity of her children changes as well. This is happening right now, and this is a part of why we are together.”
