Zaiyin
Spelling: zaiyin yoad geemel
This letter is commonly associated with a sword or staff. Often
it is considered to be at rest, and thus not necessarily applied
to combat; yet it infers the potential of conflict. It is also
commonly understood to represent a crowned being, or the scepter
of an authority, such as a king or ruler. In this latter analogy
it is linked to caring for, providing for or sustaining. Also to
‘that which is above’, and its relations with ‘that which is below’
— particularly, that which rises from below to glorify or empower
that which is above, thus ‘crowning’ it.
The impregnating properties of vahv are here reflected back towards
their source, inspiring new potentials and higher complexities,
as evidenced by the new ‘direction of extension’ (to
the right) of the upper shape of zaiyin as compared to vahv. A
consummation
is implied, which begets new ‘children’ and opportunities.
Thus a new status is acquired by both upper and lower aspects.
This is reminscent of the wonder and inspiration parents experience
in relation with their children, particularly newborns. The penetration,
consumation,
and birth lead to an entirely new universe of relations, reflections
and co-emergence. This ‘new awareness’ is an elevation
and revelation of previous potentials which were not easily experienced,
expressed
or embodied.
‘Attraction’ is subtly implied by the feminine qualities
of zaiyin. That which is below attracts that which is above, and
the resulting
combination
creates
intereflection
and a mutual ‘upward striving’ or flow, which results
in an often explosive moment of mutual consumation.
Zaiyin presents
seemingly contradictory aspects which are in fact alive
in the processes of unification: feminine/masculine, conflict/forgiveness,
peace/war.
